The most mysterious and unusual buildings created by mankind are the pyramids. Their appearance and purpose is shrouded in mystery, over which researchers and scientists have been fighting for more than one millennium.

In different parts of the planet Earth there are several hundred pyramidal structures. On the one hand, they differ from each other in shape, size, and construction time. On the other hand, they attract attention by similar features in the laying and processing of stone blocks and not only.

Scientists from California conducted an experiment: they marked on the map the places where the pyramids known to them are located, taking the pyramid of Giza as the starting point. Having connected them, they drew attention to the fact that the pyramids are practically on the same line, at the end of which were the pyramids of Guimar in the Canary Islands.

Thor Heyerdahl, during his expeditions, cited many arguments in favor of the fact that ancient people living on islands and continents could well swim long distances to exchange experiences, which explains the similarities between megalithic buildings.

But what is the functionality of the pyramids? Some of the currently existing hypotheses sometimes seem completely fantastic.

The pyramid as a religious building

The construction of a tomb to perpetuate the memory of the pharaohs is a very common version explaining the construction of the pyramids. After all, the ancient people of Egypt not only blindly believed in the existence of the afterlife, but also carefully prepared for it. When the physical death of the earthly ruler came, his body was turned into a mummy, because the Egyptians believed that only in this state the spirit would unite with the body and continue to live.

So that the pharaoh did not feel the lack of familiar things in the afterlife, in the allotted burial rooms there was a place for dishes, weapons, valuables and jewelry.

The design of the tombs was based on the principle of the labyrinth. It contained baits, traps, secret rooms. Deceptive doors, corridors leading into the void. It is believed that in this way valuables were hidden from unwanted people.

However, archaeologists have never found the buried bodies of the pharaohs in the pyramids. Necropolises were intended for burials. The mummies of Tutankhamun and Ramses II were found: the first - in the Valley of the Kings, the second - in a rock tomb. The mummy of Cheops has not yet been discovered.

The pyramid is a treasury of wisdom and knowledge

This hypothesis is based on the assertion that previous civilizations possessed a wealth of knowledge. Therefore, the pyramids were erected as repositories of this valuable baggage, where information from astronomy and geography is encrypted using the language of geometry. And scientists began to study everything connected with the pyramids: their bases, volumes, areas, faces, in order to find confirmation of this hypothesis.

One of them was the English mathematician John Legon. The calculations made by him helped to see the presence of patterns, expressed, among other things, in the multiplicity of the series of numbers. For example, if you add up all the sides of the base of the Cheops pyramid and separately measure its height, then their ratio will be equal to 2 Pi. This information helped to conclude: the pyramid is a cartographic projection of the Northern Hemisphere Earth (scale 1: 43200).

However, there are a number of facts, which are often given the most incredible explanations:

• striking in their precise fit the joints between the facing plates. Only a knife blade can be inserted into the remaining gap;

• surprisingly well-executed technological process of construction. At the modern level, enthusiasts have failed to portray something similar;

• correct symmetry of four huge faces, complicated by the fact that they are also concave towards the middle (8 faces are obtained);

• using only copper tools to create powerful structures of enormous size and considerable weight.

Pyramids as navigators

Two French researchers, L. Chaomery and A. de Belisal, made an unusual assumption about the purpose of the Great Egyptian pyramid. In their opinion, the pyramid served as a station that could transmit signals. Its impressive size and special shape only helped it to work as a "false vibrational prism." With its help, it became possible to send powerful radiation over a long distance.

Studies conducted by L. Chaomery together with A. de Belisal showed that a smaller pyramid could receive this radiation. Therefore, the ancient people could direct the ship along a certain route, and they chose the right direction for a caravan in the desert, without having a compass at that time.

Pyramid - giant stone calendar

According to O. Dluzhnevskaya, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, the pyramid of Kukulkan located in Mexico could be used as a calendar. On four sides of this structure there are stairways with 91 steps (Mayan year - 364 days) and 18 spans (number of months).

On the days of the equinox, an unusual visual effect can be observed. The sun's rays at the moment they hit the steps form something that resembles a giant snake. Her body extends to the very top of the pyramid, and her head is at the bottom of the stairs. As if she is slowly sliding towards people. This effect is achieved due to the exact location in relation to the cardinal points.

As an energy transformer

According to another version, the pyramids are powerful energy generators. According to this hypothesis, pyramids can convert negative energy into positive energy. In the pyramid of Cheops, according to some assumptions, energy accumulates in the place where the sarcophagus is located.

According to the Russian engineer Alexander Golod, who is engaged in the construction of the so-called energy pyramids, they have, above all, a positive effect on people and bring the surrounding space into a state of harmony.

In another way, this system is also called the pyramid effect, which is enclosed in its very shape. For example, the Czech researcher Bovi conducted a series of experiments and determined the effect on living and inanimate objects. He also built a pyramidal model in which he placed the used razor blades. As a result, they became like new.

Pyramid as an observatory

In recent years, scientists are increasingly inclined to believe that the ancient pyramids are giant scientific observatory laboratories. This hypothesis is supported by the astronomical orientation of the structures: north – south (to the axis of rotation of the planet). Incredible accuracy in terms of orientation is striking, with an error of up to three minutes of arc. Today, an error of three minutes is invisible to the observer. Even with the use of modern instruments, it is quite difficult to achieve such accuracy.

Arab historians also mentioned the Great Pyramid as an observatory. The specialist in Egyptology Nikolay Danilov tells about it. But for a long time, scientists could not determine how the pyramids were used in this capacity. observatory. The English astronomer Richard Proctor, studying the works of the ancient Greek philosopher Proclus, found the answer to this question.

As noted in the writings of Proclus, the Great Pyramid was indeed used as an observatory. To observe celestial bodies, a high pyramid tunnel with vertical walls was used.
