How easy it turns out to be an excellent student! I drank a cocktail - and that's it! The story, which at one time was published in the newspaper "Pionerskaya Pravda" and the magazine "Murzilka".

Once a sixth-grader Vaska Petrov got tired of being a poor student. At school they scold, scold at home, classmates laugh … Well, how much can you?

Only here's the trouble: getting tired of getting deuces, and reluctance to study. What to do?

The next day, after school, Petrov approached the excellent student Sidorov and asked:

- Listen, Vovka, advise how to become an excellent student, just not to teach lessons!

Sidorov thought about it.

“You know, you need a cocktail,” he finally said.

- And that's all ?! - Petrov perked up. - What cocktail?

- "How to become an excellent student" is called. Imagine, because at first I didn't like studying either, and then my grandmother gave me the recipe, I drank this cocktail and, as you can see, I get some "fives"!

- Great, - Petrov admired. - Why didn't you tell me before ?! I would have become an excellent student for a long time!

“The composition there is complicated,” Sidorov explained with a sigh. - You probably won't understand …

- Okay, go ahead, I'll figure it out somehow!

- You need to take a quarter of a glass of granulated sugar, then pour in a third of a glass of water …

- How much is a quarter and a third? Petrov interrupted.

- There is no time to explain, - Sidorov waved away. - Look in the math textbook. So, when the sugar dissolves, add the dried and crushed leaves of any cruciferous plant …

- How can I distinguish these crucifers from others?

- Look in the botany textbook. Then you stir all this and put it on the windowsill on the new moon, so that it brews properly …

- And how is the new moon? When is the moon round? Petrov asked.

- Look in the geography textbook.

- Okay … And then?

- You should drink a cocktail exactly on the day when some great event happened.

- Which? - Petrov raised his eyebrows.

- Well, for example, a great scientist was born or a battle took place … The Kulikovo battle, for example … Choose what is closer in numbers and drink to your health.

- I see, - Petrov scratched his head. - Only how will I know when these most suitable days will be?..

- Look in the history textbook. But the most important thing, - here Sidorov raised his index finger up, - before drinking, you need to cast a spell.

- Which? - Petrov involuntarily lowered his voice.

Sidorov made terrible eyes and gloatingly explained:

- Ten names of great scientists with a list of their discoveries and inventions!

- Where can I get these scientists ?! - Petrov clutched his head in horror.

- And you rummage through different textbooks, - advised Sidorov. - And if you want, I'll lend you my encyclopedia.

- Thanks you're a real friend! - Petrov blurted out and ran home to prepare a cocktail.

A couple of weeks later, having received his first "five" in history, Petrov approached Sidorov and exclaimed in delight:

- Listen, but the cocktail works! Don't push yourself, give the recipe to all the poor students, let them try to become excellent students too!
