Calligraphy was taught in Soviet schools until the mid-70s. Until the age of 68, schoolchildren were taught to write with a pen, and after that the pen was replaced by a ballpoint pen. Although the subject itself was still in the program, it was no longer the same. Beautiful handwriting depends not only on the student, but also on the pen with which he writes.

It is very difficult to write beautifully with ballpoint pens, they slide quickly. The worst thing is helium pens, moreover, helium pens spoil the handwriting a lot. It is difficult to write quickly with the pen, but it is easier to write beautifully - it gives time to draw the letter.

Even in those years there was a separate mark for "diligence", which at the same time stimulated accuracy, perseverance and patience. Writing with such a pen and ink is not so easy, I had to try.

The notebooks were also not simple. Factory-made, in a frequent slanting line. For the older grades, “markup” was less frequent, and from the fourth grade, notebooks in a “ruler” were used. Here they are, darlings, notebooks in a frequent slanting ruler and taught us to a neat beautiful handwriting. Some wrote better, some worse, but the letters were even with the same slope. After all, this is what kind of moron one had to be, so as not to write even exactly on such a line.

And now? First-graders have a slanting from a slant in their notebooks for a kilometer, they can't see it point-blank. So they write somehow. You can find small slanting notebooks, do not be lazy, buy, and teach your future first-graders to write. There is still time. And do not rely on school, they will not teach, they simply will not have time. Nowadays, the training system is completely different. Calligraphy is not taught, and even more so! Absolutely. Learn to write letters and that's it. At the end of the first grade, they slip a notebook in a wide line.

In fact, as it was relatively recently proved by scientists, "calligraphy" - develops the so-called. “Fine motor skills”, which in turn develops well the gyrus as a whole.

In general, "evil Stalinism" with its strong-willed "totalitarianism" - persistently tried, from an early age - to make people better.

On the other hand, subsequent destalinizers gave us “freedom” to grow dull and degrade.

Ink! This is the only way to teach a child about calligraphic handwriting.

Notebook, pen and blotter

It would seem, why now, in the era of computers and smartphones, you need to learn to write, and write beautifully, slowly, with an uncomfortable pen? Much of the school curriculum is not useful in life, but it must be passed through for development. The more you pump your brain in childhood and adolescence, the better and longer it will serve in the future. Therefore, there was calligraphy, singing, and drawing. What was previously received only by children of aristocrats. And to ordinary people, only a primitive account and a letter got through. This is enough to be able to count your debt to the usurer from morning to night in the field, be able to count your debt to the usurer and sign.

In elite educational institutions today, no one has canceled calligraphy, as well as lessons in music, drawing, and singing. Or will the graduates of these schools not live in the modern world?

Calligraphy is not in vain an art for many peoples. And technology has nothing to do with it. It turns out that if a new technological stage has been mastered, there will be no need to think either?

When a student develops new skills, concentration, and patience, fine motor skills are very important. With good and extensive basic skills, a person acquires more opportunities for creative activity. As you can see, the students who mastered calligraphy in childhood built factories where ignoramuses now earn the opportunity to live.

And yes, the more dense the ignorant, the more arrogant.

And finally, there are many Soviet textbooks here: Old Soviet textbooks
