I wrote a note a long time ago that the famous South stone was sawn off from below. This was revealed during excavations in 2014.
At the LAI forum, the participants of the expedition to Baalbek clarified that the megalith is not completely separated from the lower part of the rock below it. In fact, the bottom edge of the brick is about half a meter connected to the rock.

Why didn't I know this before? Because in the photographs, the cut at the edge of the megalith is so clearly not visible in order to clear the junction with the base. Of the 20 meters of the total length of the brick, less than a meter of a few tens of centimeters remained unfinished.
If the cut was through, then it was possible to assume that the stone is solidified concrete, poured onto the lower surface. Although this is extremely unlikely, but still.
Why is it unlikely - because the whole point of concrete technology is to cast the megalith at the place where it should be installed, so as not to drag hundreds and thousands of tons somewhere, but to create them at the place of their application. "Needed where was born". And the object itself, consisting of these giant megalithic bricks, is located a kilometer away from the quarry. Unfortunately, fans of the concrete version are so dumb they don't get it.
But, if we assume that the ancient builders were also schizophrenics and made a senseless casting of the megablock, and then dragged 1000 tons to the installation site per kilometer along the hilly terrain, then the fact that, in fact, the megalith is not completely separated by a cut from the rock completely physically eliminates the concrete version. The southern stone was once one whole with a rocky base underneath.
