Video: The benefits of nicotine and the global fight against smoking
2024 Author: Seth Attwood | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-16 15:55
The harm of nicotine is unreasonably absolutized, since everything is poison and everything is a medicine - the only difference is in the dose. The benefits of small doses of nicotine are strenuously hushed up so that the fake fight against smoking, beneficial for manufacturers, is successful.
On a global scale, there has been a literal hysterical fight against smoking for a long time. Let's take a closer look at this struggle, posing a seemingly strange question What is the real fight against: smoking = inhalation of smoke or tobacco = nicotine?
The World Health Organization is fighting tobacco, not smoking! May 31 is declared World No Tobacco Day.
Smoking itself, as well as prolonged inhalation of any smoke, is of course harmful - it is enough to remember that the overwhelming cause of death in a fire comes not from flame burns, but from smoke. It is smoke that is the main argument for banning smoking in public places, so as not to force others to become passive smokers.
But nicotine in certain doses turns out to be extremely useful (or irreplaceable) for the purpose of increasing the productivity of intellectual activity, correcting the psychophysiological state, with depression, physical exertion, for preventing the development of schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, etc. Heavy smokers (who are in the stage of nicotine addiction) could switch, at least partially, to smokeless methods of tobacco use, such as, for example, the common southern nasvay tobacco gummies or Swedish snus or snuff. Swedish studies of the health effects of snus not only show no harm, but rather a positive effect.
It would seem that the transition to a smokeless way of using tobacco should be either welcomed or at least perceived neutrally - what difference does it make to those around, the state and international organizations whether a person chews tobacco or menthol gum? Nevertheless, the WHO (World Health Organization) back in 2008 strongly recommended a preventive ban on the use of smokeless tobacco in those countries where it has not yet become fashionable due to the bans on tobacco smoking. Coincidence or not, but in the Russian Federation also in 2008 the food additive E-375 nicotinic acid was banned, it is also vitamin B-3, the deficiency of which leads to diseases of the central nervous system, pellagra, etc.
Some smokers primarily smoke because of the dose of nicotine (the criterion is the need for a morning cigarette), while the majority of other smokers have psychological dependence, or, as it is now fashionable to single out the concept of social dependence (like everyone else, status, etc.)
Let's pay attention to an interesting tendency of reducing the nicotine content in cigarettes (all kinds of "light" and "super-light"), as a result of which, to obtain a useful / habitual dose of nicotine, a real smoker begins to smoke more cigarettes, which leads to an increase in the amount of inhaled harmful smoke. In addition to this, all sorts of thin "ladies'" cigarettes, flavors, "improved taste", stylish package designs and other bells and whistles greatly facilitate the process of replenishing the ranks of psychologically dependent smokers.
This is how, under the guise of “fighting smoking,” conditions are actually created to increase the sale of cigarettes, and the notorious WHO still recommends that countries increase the price of cigarettes. How could it be otherwise, after all, cigarette manufacturers sponsor WHO "to combat smoking"!
All sorts of horror stories on the packs at the same time allow them to mix any chemicals into tobacco with impunity, they say, we warned you …
Now let's dream up what a real fight against smoking could look likeand not this fight of the Nanai boys:
· To prohibit by law the production and import of any cigarettes of a class higher than "Prima", i.e. to release them without a filter, in a soft, unpresentable pack of bad paper (thereby cutting off status and other urges of psychological dependence), and the tobacco there should be exclusively natural, without any flavors and combustion accelerators, with a nicotine content natural for oriental tobacco and tobacco 2 - 4 mg (no Virginia low-nicotine tobaccos and artificial nicotine reduction!).
· It is even better to produce not cigarettes, but cigarettes due to the lack of glue and other nasty things in the tissue paper. For the uninitiated, I explain that a cigarette differs from a cigarette precisely in that in cigarettes there is paper without paints and other additives that provide the white color of cigarette paper; in cigarettes, unlike cigarettes, paper does not stick together, but is mechanically connected by rolling along the seam. At one time, cigarettes with a filter were also produced, i.e. the presence of a mouthpiece is not at all an indicator. Cigarettes with a mouthpiece contain less tobacco, i.e. less smoke, but more sense.
· The next possible step is to ban the production of any ready-to-use tobacco products - only natural tobacco, makhorka and tissue paper for sale. Making a roll-up or lighting a pipe is a whole ritual, and you can't just smoke lightly on the go or while driving.
But neither manufacturers, nor states, nor WHO will ever agree to such measures. The former will lose a significant sales market due to a decrease in the number of smokers and the range of products, the latter are also interested in filling the budget, and WHO will remain without sponsors.
Hence the brief conclusions:
1. The existing fight against smoking is completely false and the salvation of smokers is the work of smokers themselves.
2. The real smoker should strive to reduce or eliminate the harmful effects of smoke while maintaining reasonable and beneficial doses of nicotine. This effect can be achieved by:
· Maximum reduction of the depth of inhalation of smoke into the lungs with the rejection of "light" cigarettes and the transition to stronger natural (no additives) tobacco or makhorka with a corresponding decrease in the amount smoked;
· Switching to chewing or snuff tobacco / makhorka;
· Use of e-cigarette-inhaler liquids with a suitable nicotine content.
3. The harm of nicotine is unreasonably absolutized, since everything is poison and everything is a medicine - the only difference is in the dose. For example, 100 g of table salt eaten on an empty stomach without water is a lethal dose, snake venom in small doses is a medicine, etc. The benefits of small doses of nicotine are strenuously hushed up so that the fake fight against smoking, beneficial for manufacturers, is successful.
W. Churchill lived 91 years and smoked 10 CIGARs daily with normal nicotine content, but note that, unlike cigarette smoking, cigar smoke is not drawn into the lungs. This example once again illustrates the thesis that NICOTINE IS USEFUL AND NEEDED, AND THE MAIN HARM IS FROM INHALATION OF CIGARETTE SMOKE. That is why the methods of "fighting smoking" by reducing nicotine in cigarettes and "improving their taste", leading to an increase in the number of smoked cigarettes, can be called truly devilish.
Therefore, TO OBTAIN A USEFUL DOSE OF NICOTINE, IT IS NECESSARY TO USE NATURAL STRONG TOBACCO IN A SAFER WAY (chewing, sniffing, pipe and cigar smoking without inhaling smoke).
As an illustrative example, consider the situation of tobacco use in Cuba. According to a global survey of the Gallup service, the highest percentage of smokers in the world - 40% is in Cuba, and almost 30% of women smokers there.
And at the same time Cuba is an "island of long-livers": the average life expectancy in Cuba is 78 years (higher only in Japan), infant mortality is lower than in the USA (!), Very low death rates from cancer and heart attack. Such long-lived chickens as Churchill.
The table below shows that in terms of the number of CIGARETTES per person, Cuba is in 51st place, unlike Ukraine with a sad 2nd place and Russia in 6th. But what kind of cigarettes are smoked in Cuba! The one who tried their thermonuclear Partagas, Ligeros, Montecristo, will not let you lie that not every smoker will master a cigarette completely, so they swallow very little smoke. Most Cubans, on the other hand, smoke cigars, which do not suck the smoke into their lungs.
Let's pay attention to the fact that the United States is in 41st place in terms of cigarettes per capita (but they smoke + cigars in Cuba!), There are only 24% of smokers, they immeasurably surpass Cuba in income, the climate in the United States is excellent, and still live much less … In Cuba, after all, they smoke only their own, natural high-quality tobacco with nicotine, and not some "American blend" - cut paper imitating tobacco, impregnated with tobacco extract (this allows you to accurately indicate the content of tar and nicotine).
Once again, we emphasize the thesis about the importance of choosing WHAT tobacco and HOW to use it. If by way of smoking, then it is better to have a strong natural one, so that you will need to inhale less smoke, i.e. modern low-nikotine cigarettes are the most harmful option you can think of.
On cigarette packs, they completely honestly warn about the dangers of smoking, the dangers of tobacco smoke, they scare you with cancer and other diseases, but at the same time they completely despicably reduce the amount of nicotine, forcing you to smoke more.
The following information and quotes are from the report (broken link, bastards removed) A. N. Glushkova "FOUNDATIONS FOR PREDICTION, PREVENTION, IMMUNODIAGNOSTICS AND BIOTHERAPY OF MALIGNANT TUMORS"
Among the large list of carcinogenic substances and factors on p. 21 we find (everywhere it is highlighted by me - Igor Grek):
43. Tobacco (smoking, tobacco smoke). When smoking, pyrolysis of tobacco products and the formation of smoke occurs. It contains more than 3900 chemical substances, including explicit CGs: 2-naphthylamine, benzene, 4-aminobiphenyl, vinyl chloride, as well as benzo (a) pyrene (explicit CG according to the Russian national list of CGs) and other PAHs, and in addition a number of KG of metals and radionuclides. The most pronounced dependence on smoking was found for lung cancer (up to 80% of cases) … The main factors that determine the incidence of lung cancer: 1) the number of cigarettes smoked; 2) the age of onset of smoking and total length of service, the latter being more significant than the number of cigarettes smoked; 3) smoking method (pipe and cigar smokers have a lower risk); 4) the content of tar in the tobacco; 5) hereditary predisposition.
How! Tobacco smoke, not nicotine. By the way, it is not on the list at all, tk. it has nothing to do with carcinogenicity, and quite the opposite, we look at p.51:
"Interestingly, nicotine, cotinine and nornicotine, and even an aqueous extract of cigarette tar, inhibit bacterial mutagenesis and chromosomal abnormalities in animal cell culture by some of the carcinogens found in tobacco smoke."
Translated into normal language, this means that they pumped into some mouse some of the carcinogens contained in cigarette smoke in insignificant quantities, but the mouse was given a horse dose that is guaranteed to cause cancerous changes in the cells. So here nicotine and its derivatives cotinine and nornicotine and even an aqueous extract of cigarette tar (!!!) prevent the development of cancer even from horse doses of carcinogens.
Thank you fucking manufacturers who are cutting back on nicotine, thus forcing more smoke - now it's clear why the WHO is confidently predicting an increase in cancer.
And medicine turns out to know everything, but why is the medical mafia silent about the positive properties of nicotine, supports the reduction of the maximum permissible level of nicotine in cigarettes? Not political kosher? Nobody will give a denyukh then?
See in the same report on page 22
44. Tobacco products (smokeless) … the relationship between cancer and tobacco sniffing, as well as chewing other tobacco products (nasa, mishri, nasvara and others) is questionable.
Which in translation into ordinary human language means "it seems that tobacco is supposed to be associated with cancer, but it's a pity it doesn't work."
This time I'll end with a quote from some forum:
It happened before.
All my grandfathers smoked. All my grandfathers' friends smoked.
EVERYONE smoked tobacco and makhorka. Then "Belomor".
Whoever did not smoke was not considered a man.
Everyone lived in the village.
Almost all of them lived to be 80, many in their right mind and with natural attraction (!) Survived 80. Some are still healthy (God bless! And smoke)
Which is what I wish for all of us. Not smoking, of course, but longevity.
And on my own behalf, I will add that my grandfather in his right mind and firm memory lived for exactly 100 years and smoked makhorka until he was 95-97 years old (a couple of times a day - it was a whole ritual). Once, at the age of 70, they brought him some expensive then cigarettes, something like a gift wrapping for "Stolichnye". He tried them and said to his son: "Sorry, but I WILL NOT smoke this." Of course, after all, until 1950, the nicotine content in one cigarette was 3.5-4.0 mg, and then the level was sharply reduced to almost 1.0 mg, can you really compare it with a strong perfumed tobacco? What, then, are modern cigarettes with cut paper soaked in tobacco extract with a nicotine content of 0.1 to 0.9 mg? No, no obscene words, this is a crime, genocide on a worldwide scale.
REMEMBER: NICOTINE NEUTRALIZES THE HARMFUL OF TOBACCO SMOKE, THEREFORE LOW-CONICOTINE CIGARETTES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
The list of useful properties of nicotine turned out to be very easy to compile, but the harmful properties of nicotine could not be found in any way, only demagogic and groundless cries of "nicotine is poison", "nicotine is a drug".
Nicotine is not on the official list of carcinogens, and nicotine is not on the list of drugs either. What to do?
It would be just right to appoint a reward to anyone who finds at least one harmful property of nicotine, naturally in reasonable doses corresponding to those that a smoker receives, and not in the notorious "horse drops". However, the complete absence of harmful properties on my list could be regarded as "poorly searched" or "found and hidden". Therefore, the idea arose to test for medicinal products containing nicotine. Pharmaceutical firms very strongly insure their ass against possible lawsuits by the fact that in the column "side effects" they indicate as much as possible all possible negative consequences according to the principle "we warned you and thereby absolved ourselves of all responsibility." For ease of comparison with nicotine, we first present the side effects of two well-known and widely used drugs: - aspirin: "Allergic reactions (bronchospasm, skin rash). Stomach pain. A decrease in the number of platelets in the blood. With frequent and prolonged use in rare cases, it is possible the development of gastrointestinal bleeding, which is accompanied by persistent abdominal pain, black (tarry) stools, general weakness, anemia. " Aspirin provokes bleeding, worsens blood clotting, but you have to put up for the sake of treatment. - paracetamol (is a part of many antipyretic drugs): "Allergic reactions; with prolonged use - methemoglobinemia, impaired renal and liver function, hypochromic anemia. In case of overdose, when taken in toxic doses (10-15 g in adults) liver necrosis ". Paracetamol is very dangerous, because it has a cumulative effect (it is poorly excreted from the body) and the range between the therapeutic and toxic doses is very small, poisoning is like nothing to do if the dosage and duration of use are not observed. And you have to put up with all this and take into account the benefit-harm ratio. Now you can compare what the world-famous company Pfizer warns about the side effects of its Nicorette remedy, produced in the form of patches containing only pure nicotine as an active substance: “Nicorette patches can cause undesirable effects that are similar to those of using nicotine entering the body in a different way, and mainly depend on the dose. " Oh no no no! And that's all that pharmaceutical giant Pfizer could scare us with? What is this "undesirable effects similar to those" on the principle of "guess it yourself"? This is the first time I see such incomprehensible side effects of the active substances of a drug.
an inhaler, a patch and a chewing gum from Pfizer, containing 4 mg of nicotine, for comparison, in cigarettes, a dose of useful nicotine from 0.1 to 1.2 mg + a lot of harmful smoke Then, Pfizer warns about the peculiarities of the action of this dosage form, a patch: "About 20% of patients in the first weeks of treatment note moderate local skin reactions (redness, itching). " It is clear that this is a normal reaction, local irritation of the nicotine absorption site under the patch, similar to a short-term skin reaction to taking vitamin B3 (aka nicotinic acid, vitamin PP). We look at how the company dodges if there is nothing more to write. In order to somehow increase the volume of intimidation, Pfizer goes on to list not the consequences of taking nicotine, but quitting smoking (!): smoking cessation After smoking cessation, there may be an increase in the incidence of aphthous ulcers, the cause of which is not known. " Dot. There is nothing else. (source 1, source 2). Even better, the safety of nicotine is proved by an inhaler (!) From Pfizer with pure nicotine, a real prototype of an electronic cigarette (source 3):
Now, with good reason, you can write: "Reasonable Doses of Nicotine Are Safe" ® Pfizer Already checked, the question arises here: "Where, then, is the harm of smoking?" Answer: "Only from cigarette smoke drawn into the lungs, but by no means from nicotine. The less nicotine in cigarettes, the more harmful they are, the deeper and more often the smoker inhales, the more dangerous (but when smoking cigars and pipes the smoke in lungs do not get, only in the mouth and nose - "taste-smell", the smoke is cold and the tobacco is real, of high quality).
Only smoke is harmful! Do not breathe smoke into your lungs! It's easier to brush your teeth than your lungs. Smoking cigarettes is the most dangerous of all ways of using tobacco, and the most dangerous of all are "light" cigarettes, there is no useful nicotine from them at all, only the most harmful smoke! USEFUL PROPERTIES OF NICOTINE: - nicotine and its derivatives cotinine and nornicotine and even water extract of cigarette tar prevent the development of cancer caused by carcinogens of tobacco smoke (see on p. 51 of the 2002 source - a report at a conference of oncologists. UPD for 2013 the link is broken, the report was published on the website of the Kemerovo State Medical Academy, we will search again);
- nicotine addiction (by the type of drug addiction) does not exist (source 23.08.10,)
- nicotine suppresses the state of acute painful craving for drugs and can be used in the future for the treatment of drug addiction (source 23.05.2006); and nicotinic acid (vitamin B3) breaks down and removes LSD, marijuana and other drugs from the body (source 1) - nicotine is an antidote against a chemical weapon - a chemical warfare agent ricin. Scientists associate this effect of nicotine with its anti-inflammatory properties. (source 2010-02-07) (source 2010-05-07) - nicotine increases mental performance and accelerates the processing of information in non-smokers (Baron JA. Benefical effects of nicotine and cigarette smoking: the real, the possible and spurious. British Medical Bulletin, 1996: 52: 58-73 see article, source 2) - nicotine in the doses in which it is found in cigarettes has a powerful antiestrogenic effect, therefore, women who smoke, who are in the group of almost 100% risk of developing fibromatosis and endometrial cancer (age over 50 and overweight), the disease, however, did not develop (…) - nicotine has a beneficial effect on the course of Parkinson's disease, which is clearly established, in connection with which it is planned to create a medicine for parkinsonism based on nicotine (…) - the main product of the conversion of nicotine in the body - cotinine - improves memory and treats Alzheimer's disease. (source 29.04.2011, source 14.07.2008) - nicotine prevents memory loss in old age - improves attention, cognition and information processing speed (source journal Neurology) - nicotine stimulates blood circulation, restoration of blood vessels, and therefore can be used to heal wounds and treat diseases associated with circulatory disorders and diabetes (source 4.12.2001) - nicotine reduces appetite (source 10.06.2011, source 2) - nicotine is an effective means of normalizing body weight. People who smoke regularly have a body weight close to ideal, and their fat content is 1.5 times less than that of nonsmokers (…)
- nicotine weakens the effect of alcohol (source 1)
- nicotine helps in the treatment of ulcerative colitis, which is very difficult to treat (chronic inflammation of the intestines), due to its anti-inflammatory properties, improves peristalsis (wave-like movements of the walls) of the intestine, stimulates the formation of a protective layer of mucus, (source 15.09.1998, source 26.02.2002.) - a nicotine derivative - vitamin B3, it is also vitamin PP, nicotinamide, nicotinic acid or "nicotine", this is the only vitamin that is recognized by modern official medicine not just as a dietary supplement, but as an independent medicine, for example, to lower the level of "bad" cholesterol via, stimulates the hematopoietic function of the bone marrow, accelerates the healing of ulcers and wounds, reduces blood glucose, etc. via
In the human body, nicotinic acid is synthesized not from nicotine, but from tryptophan, which is rich in cheese, cottage cheese, mushrooms, oats, buckwheat, etc. via Here the properties of nicotinic acid are compared with those of nicotine. - nicotine is effective even against those tubercular bacilli that have acquired resistance to antibiotics (source 1, source 2, source 3), which is not surprising, since the widely used anti-tuberculosis drug isoniazid (isonicotinic acid hydrazide) is a nicotine derivative:
- nicotine saves from depression, suppresses the symptoms of schizophrenia (source 1, source 2, source 3) - nicotine improves coordination of movements, reaction speed and endurance, which makes it possible to use it in sports as not a prohibited drug (source 1) - In 2006, the Norwegian agency The National Health Screening Service published in the journal Tobacco Control the results of a study showing that nicotine, acting on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, which then modulate other activating neurotransmitters, provokes the release of dopamine and glutamate (the main excitatory neurotransmitter of the brain), to a lesser extent - serotonin and catecholamines (adrenaline and norepinephrine). Thus, nicotine has a positive effect on cognitive processes and thinking, concentration and attention, stabilizes the emotional background, increases resistance to stress factors, has an anti-anxiety effect, accelerates the reaction, improves selective auditory and visual sensitivity. It is no coincidence that pharmaceutical companies use nicotine in the development of drugs for the treatment of hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder in adolescents, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease. However, such drugs are called acetylcholine modulators to avoid associations with tobacco. RIA AMI-TASS
- Nicotine suppresses the state of acute painful craving for drugs and can in the future be used to treat drug addiction, reports AMI-TASS.
This is the conclusion reached by Japanese researchers led by Tsuneyuki Yamamoto from Nagasaki International University. Scientists conducted an experiment on rats addicted to methamphetamine (pervitin, vint).
- nicotine is unique in comparison with most drugs, since the nature of its action changes from stimulating to sedative (sedative, analgesic) as the dose used increases (source 1), Here you can read the most complete pharmacological descriptions of nicotine found to date, more once emphasizing the dose-dependent effect of nicotine: in small doses, it has a stimulating effect on the nervous system, increases blood pressure (not good for everyone), and in large doses, its calming (sedative, inhibitory effect) is manifested. In the same source, the most severe listing of the side effects of nicotine was found: “From the side of the central nervous system: dizziness, headache, anxiety.
Others: allergic reactions, pharyngitis."
As you can see here, the terrible consequences of the use of chewing gum and a patch are added to the volume. Everybody be afraid!
DON'T FORGET THAT THE TOBACCO USER NEEDS
TAKE MORE VITAMIN C (ASCORBIC ACID) FOR GUM STRENGTHENING!
The following is a list of the discovered benefits of smoking, although it would be more correct to talk about the beneficial properties of specific tobacco substances, most likely the main one - nicotine, but there are many others - more than 3,000. as it is said, and I quote:
- according to "Clinical Pharmacology" Lawrence D. R., Benitt P. N., smokers have significantly less toxicosis of pregnant women, as well as Parkinson's disease …
- smokers practically do not get sick with herpes of the lips and face
- it turned out that in pregnant smokers, the risk of developing preeclampsia and eclampsia (according to Brockhaus's definition, these are convulsions during childbirth, similar to epileptic ones, the woman in labor begins vomiting, loss of consciousness, foaming at the mouth) is reduced by 30-50%. In addition, it turned out that among smokers, hypertension of pregnant women is less common. Moreover, the so-called vomiting of pregnant women is much less common among smokers. According to data published in a quite decent Russian Medical Journal, an article on the benefits of smoking in black and white states that “tobacco acts as an antiestrogen, smokers develop a state of estrogen deficiency, which has a positive effect on diseases that arise against the background of their excess. Therefore, heavy smoking reduces, for example, the risk of developing uterine fibrosis (up to 50%, especially in thin women and in postmenopausal women) and, presumably, endometriosis (if smoking is started at an early age). " the synthesis of thromboxane is inhibited, the rate of increase in plasma volume decreases, or the hypotensive effect of thiocyanate contained in tobacco smoke affects. " Ibid: "Some researchers point to a decrease in the incidence of Down's disease among newborns born to mothers who smoke, compared with nonsmokers."
- scattered data indicate a "positive effect of smoking" on aphthous ulcerative stomatitis (remember the cited warning from Pfizer!), ulcerative colitis, allergic alveolitis ("farmer's lung" and "pigeon's lung"), hay fever. There is evidence that smoking inhibits skin inflammation.
- Tobacco smokers are less likely to become victims of Parkinson's disease. Nicotine also markedly reduces the rate of development of Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it improves the condition of patients with ulcerative colitis and relieves pain in many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It is believed that smokers are less likely to develop allergic reactions. (source 15.05.2010) How can we not remember the famous Che Guevara, who became addicted to smoking cigars only because it allowed him to fight asthma attacks.
