A Swedish family constructed a greenhouse to wrap around the house for natural heating. When it's -3 ° C outside, they have 15-20 ° C of heat.

Marie Granmar and Charles Sacilotto initially wanted to build a new energy efficient home from scratch. But then they met with the architect Bengt Varn, who showed them his vision of how to insulate houses with a greenhouse.

The family liked the idea very much and decided to transform their summer house in this way.

Naturhus (Natural House), as the architect calls his designs, he built the first such house back in 1974.

Marie and Charles's summer house now looks like from a science fiction movie. When it's winter outside, they have summer.

The entire outer metal structure of the greenhouse is covered with 4mm glass, which provides residents with a mild Mediterranean climate.

Currently, the couple grows here atypical products for Scandinavia: figs, tomatoes, cucumbers.

The family's favorite place is the glass roof. Here they sunbathe, play with their son, read or swing on a swing.

This sunny veggie is not just a romantic addition to the house. The family is economical on heating and is completely independent from the city sewerage system.

It all starts with the separation of waste, then centrifuges, cisterns, beds and garden ponds filter the water and compost the residues.
