The famous Indian linguist professor D. Shastri once remarked to his Russian colleagues: "You all here speak some ancient form of Sanskrit, and I understand a lot without translation." The two closest languages in the world are ancient Sanskrit and Russian. Compare: brother - brother, alive - jiva, mother - matri, winter - hima, snow - sneha, swim - swim, father-in-law - swakar, uncle - dada, door - dvara, god - bhog … Examples can be given endlessly! We say tryn-grass, and in Sanskrit, trin is grass. We say "dense forest", and the slumber is the forest. Compare: "That house is yours, this is our house." In Sanskrit: "Tat vas dham, etat nas dham." Sixty percent of Sanskrit words coincide in meaning and pronunciation with Russian words completely! But the most surprising thing is that scientists have proved: there are signs that Sanskrit comes from the Proto-Russian language. And the word "Rus" in translation from Sanskrit means light, the word "Rus" - light, kind, and the word "Dew" - homeland.

The researcher of the ancient Indian epic Tilak in 1903 published his book "The Arctic homeland in the Vedas" in Bombay. According to Tilak, the sacred books of knowledge "Vedas", created more than three thousand years ago, tell about the life of his distant ancestors on earth, where there are many forests and lakes, mountains, rivers flowing to the north and south. They describe endless summer days and winter nights, the North Star and the northern lights. Indeed, the Volga and Dvina flow in different directions, and the Northern Dvina - in Sanskrit "double" - is formed from the confluence of two rivers … In the northern regions of Russia, many rivers, lakes and streams are called Ganga, Padmo, Indiga, Ganesh, Om … the name is borne by two rivers, in Mordovia and in the Ryazan region. The Vedic term "Moksha", translated from Sanskrit - "liberation, withdrawal into the Spiritual World." Sukhona - from Sanskrit means easily overcome. Kama is love, attraction. Why are geographical names with Sanskrit roots found everywhere in our country, from Karelia to the Urals?

Not so long ago, an Indian folklore ensemble came to the Vologda region. The leader, Mrs. Mihra, was shocked by the ornaments on the Vologda national costumes. "These, she exclaimed enthusiastically," are found here in Rajasthan, and these are in Aris, and these ornaments are just like in Bengal. " It turned out that even the technology of embroidery of ornaments is called the same in the Vologda region and in India. Embroidery with white threads on a white canvas is what we call "chasing", in India the same embroidery is precisely called "chikan"! And the similarity of ancient symbols, traditions, myths, fairy-tale characters of the north of Russia and India is simply amazing!

Scientists and ethnographers draw different conclusions, but agree on one thing - the Hindus and Slavs in ancient times were one people.
