After the death of his father, the world chess champion, his only daughter Jeanne Talshe lived in Germany for many years, then again in Riga, and now, as reported by the BaltNews.lv agency, she decided to settle in Russia.

Why did the daughter of the famous chess player M. Tal, who lived in Germany, choose Russia?

“My dad was a patriot to the core,” Zhanna recalls, talking about the life of her family in the USSR. - More than once he was offered to leave. States, Europe. Golda Meir herself offered to stay in Israel, with all the ensuing consequences. Money, fame … But for the Pope there was no such option. Dad loved his hometown. Riga. But he loved that Riga, Soviet Riga. Not politically Soviet, but possessing spiritual values, which are now trying with all their might to stifle."

Her father, MichaelTal (1936-1992), was a multiple champion of the USSR in chess, became the eighth world champion. Born and lived all his life in Riga.

Agony of the West

In an interview with the Latvian agency BaltNews.lv, Zhanna Tal said that she decided to leave the West, because she was convinced that he was in agony. “These signs,” she said, “have been observed for a long time. First, the depressing double standards. In the West, they readily notice one Syrian child, who suffered from the war, who is covered all over the world, and for years they stubbornly ignore the children who are dying in Donbass. Moreover, at the hands of the Ukrainian side - and this information is turned inside out.

The last, very vivid example of this agony is the ban on Russian athletes from participating in the Olympics. Even "clean", and evidence of violations has not yet been provided. And the very last, most vile manifestation of this agony is when disabled people are touched. Unfortunately, this is already completely beyond any morality and spirituality."

“Now,” continued Zhanna Tal, “we have published the WADA database exposed by hackers. By the way, thanks a lot to the hackers for that. It has been clearly shown that American athletes can simply take potent doping. And they are not only allowed to compete, but they are not checked, and no one selects medals either. And our disabled people, who are forced to take medications in order to survive, are simply not allowed to compete, citing violations. Again, unsubstantiated.

It seems to me that all this reverberates. It is still not so noticeable, but still. See what difficulties are now in the USA. Economically. It will not work to inflate a bubble with a printing press for a long time. The future of the pension fund is already in question, and this is serious. There are also political problems.

Ukraine did not work out as planned. It was not possible to drag Russia into the war. The States lost to Syria. Isn't it agony when the Americans shoot at the Syrian troops in a truce, and then say that "the mistake came out." This is the same mistake they made in Libya, Iraq, and Yugoslavia.

Now - the next one."

Degradation of Latvia

The agency's correspondent asked her a question about what is happening now in Latvia. “It’s very sad to look at,” she replied. - When I came to Riga from Germany seven years ago, it seemed to me that I returned to a place where our mentality was somehow preserved. But I saw the expansion of the Western mentality. For example, in schools. You look at the faces of young people and you see emptiness. Truth. It became very scary.

In Europe, I ate this Western mentality up to my throat. And, having returned to Riga, I really wanted to believe that I returned to the old one … from which I was leaving. But it quickly became clear to me that that Riga had sunk somewhere far away. And, most likely, irrevocably. For almost seven years I have been observing the process of degradation. Latvia is gradually more and more loaded into the Western mentality - from schooling to the introduction of so-called Western values into the minds of people …

Maybe when she reaches the edge of the abyss, Russia will help her. However, I am afraid that Russia does not need Latvia. She even needs Ukraine more. In Latvia, I am afraid, the gap between the rich and the rest of the population, which will be poor, will grow. Plus, people will continue to leave Latvia. Six months ago, the last time in Latvia, at half past six on Brivibas, my friends and I counted only six people - where are the people, I ask? - And nowhere …"

Russia is recovering

According to Zhanna Tal, after the collapse of the USSR, Russia also found itself in a critical situation. “Russia,” she says, “has had this disease. Passed it to the most critical stage. And what is happening now is recovery. Every year and even month, people realize how exaggerated, empty and primitive these Western values are. Fewer and fewer people are striving for the West. It is clear that this is not paradise either. Difficulties are and will be, everything that has been heaped up in 23 years, while Russia was in a state of "Western occupation", will have to be cleaned up. It will be long and painful. But the process of recovery has begun.

I look at the little guys who go to school - their faces are different. They believe in something. It is this fervent belief in something that is higher than the material that is largely absent in the West. There you look at the faces of young people - not all, but many - and cold skin from emptiness.

Look at their reaction to the attacks. Protests? People sit and paint pictures on the asphalt. No, to really take and do something. In addition to coloring Facebook avatars and the hypocritical marches of the world. And the indifference is striking, from which it becomes uncomfortable. The same terrorist attacks in Nice, in Brussels, in Paris. As if they are not there. Therefore, the prospects, unless a miracle happens, are very bad. The people who are now flooding Europe are of a completely different mentality. They will stand up for each other. I would not be surprised if the refugees really take over there and drive out the Europeans sooner or later."

Speaking about the political structure of the West, Jeanne Tal calls it a "dictatorship." “This is the same dictatorship that is only called democracy,” she says. - Is there a democracy in the USA? They only pretend that they change presidents every two terms. But nothing changes. And what is happening in Germany is blackmail. Most likely, when it all began, Merkel promised something. Perhaps fame, prestige, money. And now, even realizing the tragedy of the whole situation, she can no longer jump off. Fears".

“I think the fear of possible terrorist attacks plays a very important role. Look, as soon as Seerhof in Bavaria started talking about lifting the sanctions, a series of terrorist attacks immediately took place. And it wasn't the refugees who did it. And France? Only Hollande hinted at partnership with Russia - bam, and at once there were terrorist attacks.

The terrorists were brought in on purpose, in a stream of refugees. Well, one should not throw off the scales of the fact that there are NATO bases stuck in Germany. The only thing that has pleased me now is that both Germany and France have not succumbed to another blackmail, and vehemently oppose the signing of the Transatlantic Partnership Agreement."

The shops are better than in Cologne or Bonn

Jeanne Tal also debunks the myth that in the West supposedly milk rivers flow in the banks of the jelly, declaring that living in Russia is not at all worse. “The naivete of the Russians,” she says, “is just evaporating. Many, like me, are starting to return from Europe. And what about the standard of living? In the same Moscow - go to any store. I would say that European shops are resting when it comes to assortment. It is generally better to keep quiet about quality - here it is many times superior.

I remember, in the late 80s, my mother first went to Berlin, and then it was a discovery - there are 40 varieties of sausages on the counter! And now you will not surprise anyone with this, not only in Moscow or St. Petersburg.

I often visit Voronezh and other cities of Russia, and I can say that the shops there are better than in Cologne and Bonn.

Now there is still a small part of the population that listens to Echo of Moscow, watches Dozhd and reads Navalny with Khodorkovsky. But, this is a small percentage that no one takes seriously. By the way, the elections showed it in all its glory. Both liberal parties fell short of even two percent.

There is more freedom of speech in Russia

Everyone is tired of these slogans about freedom of speech. We have much more of this freedom in Russia than in the West - go out to Bolotnaya and protest, no one is arresting anyone. If you want to criticize the president, you don't want to. For me, they have too much freedom, but this is my opinion. It's different in the West. I know perfectly well how it happens in Latvia. For example, a friend of mine collected humanitarian aid for Donbass. The security police arrived immediately.

Therefore, in terms of freedom of speech, Russia is ahead. And in terms of empathy, compassion and generosity. No matter how much Ukraine throws mud at Russia, it still gives a discount on gas. Because our people are there. And to leave people to freeze - this Russia will never allow itself."

Jeanne Tal gives a harsh assessment to our home-grown liberals, indignant at what they say about their own country. “This,” she says, is a striking indicator of the level of 'spirituality' of our pseudo-intelligentsia. Rather, its complete absence. And look at the communication of many "liberal" figures. Swearing words, vulgarity to vulgarity, as if all the frames of decency and even elementary restraint have been lost."

Likewise, Zhanna Tal sharply criticizes the current American establishment, including how the US is whipping up the myth of the "Russian threat". “We were really joking,” she says, “on the topic that she fainted, and now they will say that Putin is to blame. But it turned out that our jokes became prophetic. As a pathologist expert suggested in the Washington Post, Putin's poisoning is not out of the question. Everything would be very funny if it were not so tragic.

It's good that more than half of Americans are not interested in all this at all, they do not read this newspaper. And those who read, it seems, are not so naive either. I ran on social networks, on Twitter, and the comments of American users are often of a similar tone: yes, this is quite the limit - what nonsense."

Everyone should choose where to go

“When I applied for the transfer to Russia program,” says Zhanna Tal, “I saw that the FMS employees did not have time to process the documents. Moreover, people go anywhere. And in Transbaikalia, and Siberia, and the Urals.

Having lived for a long time in Germany - communicating mainly among native Germans and speaking the language perfectly - and for several years in Latvia, I can say with confidence: in Russia, for the first time since childhood, I feel at home … People on the streets are smiling. Maybe they won't smile just like that. But for "just like that" - it is necessary to go to America. There, half of the population visits a psychotherapist, and everything is fine. By the way, here I have never met with rudeness. Although I had to deal with officials and with many instances. You will laugh, but the only time I got nasty in Russia was when I applied for help at the German consulate."

“Now,” says Zhanna Tal, “is a turning point. When each of us faces a choice. As for the spiritual crisis … Russia went through this process in the 90s. What is called - to the ground. Apparently, now Europe and America will have to go through it. If only it did not come to a big war …"

And further: “Yes, it is difficult, but for us it is an honor to live at such a time. This is an exam for us. For perseverance, for faith, for courage. Black or white. Okay, not completely black or white. But, nevertheless, everyone must choose where to go - into Light or Darkness."
