Thanks to the cooperation of wikimedia and the German State Archives, all 1,773 photographs brought by Ernst Schaefer from the famous expedition to Tibet in 1938-39 have been made available to the public. Here are some of them.

DESERT GOBI AND SHAMBALA.

Perhaps it will seem like a simple coincidence, but it is in the Gobi Desert that the Third Panchey Lama, which we have already mentioned, is located in Shambhala. In his description, he quite clearly limits it to five countries - the Land of Snows (Siberia) in the north, Tibet and India in the south, China in the east, and Khotan in the west. [56]

Many Theosophists adhered to the same version of Shambhala in the Gobi in the 1920s. In the book Human and Solar Dedication (1922), Blavatsky's student Alice Bailey expounds the doctrine of Sanat Kumar, who was also an “Aryan Christ,” like Baldr-Krestos, who had just arrived in the Gobi several million years earlier than the latter. “Suffice it to say that in the middle of the Lemurian era, about eighteen million years ago, a great event took place, which meant, among other things, the following: the Planetary Logos of our earthly system, one of the Seven Spirits before the throne, incarnated physically and under the guise of Sanat Kumara, The Ancient of Days, the Lord of the World, descended on our dense physical planet and has remained with us ever since. /… /. In Him we live and move and exist, and none of us can leave His aura. He is the Great Sacrifice, He left the glory of the heights in the name of the developing sons of men, took Himself a physical form in the image of man.”[57]

In Irminism, a similar link between the Gobi and the Lemurians also existed, especially in the circles of the so-called "space technicians," as the ipynna of Wiligut's followers called themselves, which united in the 1920s. The main theorist of this occult group, engineer by education Emil Rüdiger, expounded his Gobi theory in the book The Power of Two Suns. The Myth of the Breezing's Necklace”.

There he, in particular, tells how, in the process of their migrations, the inhabitants of the former Lemuria formed four Asgards (that is, four "Agarts", which was the same for Rudiger, as for many classics of Ariosophy). These four Lemurian Asgard were ruled by each of their own Gods and were located in four cardinal directions:

Northern Asgard - the Lemurians of Thor lived there, Eastern Asgard - the Lemurians of Odin lived there, Western Asgard - the Lemurians of Loki lived there, Southern Asgard - the Lemurians of Balder lived there. [58]

If the reader expects that Asgard Balder will be placed in the Gobi, then we are forced to disappoint him. According to Rüdiger, Eastern Asgard was located on the site of today's Gobi, which is younger than others and is associated with the Pole of Formation. The creatures that lived in this Asgard possessed the secret of the four dimensions. They were the Vanir and their helper creatures (almost like in Illion's dystopia!). Their creative work on the creation of people was carried out to the end by the inhabitants of Lokian Asgard, who were engaged in what in the Serrano language would sound like "racial alchemy": they created organic life, creating new dense material types of creatures. Their main goal was to improve the family, which Rüdnger, following Wiligug, calls "the great plan for the development and management of people."
