On November 27, 2017, a round table on the topic "Shooters and fighting games: are action games the disciplines of the" future "in computer sports" was held at the Public Chamber of Russia. The event was organized by the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia for Physical Culture and the Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle, as well as the Russian Federation of Computer Sports.
Before moving on to the conclusions of the commission, we will inform you that the Ministry of Sports of Russia in 2016 officially recognized "computer sport" as one of the sports disciplines, and in 2017 it was transferred to the second section of the All-Russian register of sports developed at the state level. In practice, this means that now it is possible to legally finance this area from the state budget, including sponsoring cybersportsmen, among the common people - gamers, popularizing all kinds of computer games as one of the elements of a healthy lifestyle.
Actually, this is exactly what the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia on Physical Culture has already taken up, having held its round table and came to the following conclusions:
- There are currently no comprehensive studies on the impact of "fighting games" and "shooters";
- Existing studies of the negative influence of computer games on the psyche are false, since they were carried out incorrectly;
- Participation in computer sports competitions helps relieve psychological stress and develop leadership qualities;
- The development of computer “fighting games” and “shooters” is a continuation of the tradition of military education of the younger male generation.
Based on the findings, the commission recommends that the Ministry of Sports enroll "fighting games" and "shooters" in the official register of sports.
And now about how the Commission on the Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle, which includes various psychologists, representatives of the State Duma, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Defense, and so on, could come to such absurd conclusions based on an assessment of only the positive aspect of the influence of games and a complete disregard for the well-known negative consequences. In fact, everything is extremely simple. This commission is headed by Mrs. Irina Viner, the wife of the oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who has recently been actively engaged in what?
