There are many strange modifications of quite ordinary cars in the world. One of the brightest examples of such a machine can be considered the UAZ-469, which was produced in the Soviet Union, including with two rudders. The question immediately arises: why was such an unusual car needed at all.
Surely the majority of fellow citizens did not even have to hear about the UAZ-469 with two rudders. This is because this car was produced in a limited edition especially for the Soviet army. The first thing that can occur to the layman is that two steering wheels in a mysterious car are needed in order to teach someone something. In fact, this is not at all the case. The military version of the UAZ-469 is designed to perform very dangerous work. The fact is that such cars were created specifically for the installation of an induction mine detector (DIM).
Attached DIM is used to search for anti-personnel and anti-tank mines in open areas, as well as on the road. It is a rather bulky mine detector, which is mounted in a special way in the front of the car. The mine detector consists of an outrigger frame, a suspended search element, a tracer and an electrical system. The first such vehicles were created in the USSR on the basis of the GAZ-69, but then they were replaced with more advanced UAZ.
The mine detector differs from the original not only in the installed DIM. So, additional pneumatic chambers were attached to the brake and clutch drives. The transmission system has been replenished with a compressor. All this was done so that the driver was able to stop the car as quickly as possible.
Working speed with lowered DIM cannot exceed 10 km / h. The mine detector crew consists of a driver and an operator. Actually, the second steering wheel is just needed in order to control the induction mine detector, which has its own chassis. Also, two special canisters with colored liquid were attached to the car, which flowed onto the road while driving, thereby marking a safe lane.

Who fed whom in the USSR and who lost more from its collapse
A quarter of a century after the collapse of the USSR, we still cannot understand why this happened? Indeed, in the spring of 1991, 77.7% of its citizens voted for the preservation of a single country in a referendum. And by the end of the same year, taking advantage of the defeat of the State Emergency Committee, many union republics instantly concocted their own small-town votes, in which people already demanded independence. For example, in Ukraine, those who wanted to live separately from the rest of the Union accounted for 90%! And in Armenia - even 99%
How antiquity was produced
The author of the blog "Notes of a Kolymchanin" gave a lot of interesting photos of stone processing from the late 19th to the middle of the 20th century. The author's idea is that the so-called "antiquities" were built in those years. was there anything at all before the recent "reconstruction"?
Who fed whom in the USSR
The former Soviet republics believed they were feeding "bottomless Russia." And when the Union collapsed, everyone realized that it was exactly the opposite
